Childhood memory story: My uncle

**My story is sad but i chose to write it because it was the most important event in my childhood**

When i was about 6 or 7 years old out of all the people that i knew i think the most exciting person to me was my Uncle Danny. He lived next to us and took care of our great grandmother whenever my grandma wasn't their. He would take me to do fun stuff like throw the football he bought me back and forth Alot he would take me to get pizza, football games, to the park and it was always really fun. Since my parents were usually at work but he was retired he would always be the one to do stuff with me and i always found that to be fun. One of the coolest things i remember was his car it was a brown car with a gleaming white trim. I always though that his car was the best it was always clean and taken care of well because he had a lot of time on his hands after he retired and he was always washing it in his spare time. I thought it was the greatest thing ever he would sometimes take me out to a dusty road and drive as fast as he could in it just for fun.

Then there were the times he started to get sick. He would be going places but he always coughed Alot and started to do stuff with me less. But i would treasure it because of all the fun we would have. After a while he started to get skinny very quickly but i never knew why because i didn't hear much from anyone else about him. I heard my parents talking about something called cancer but i didn't know what cancer was cause i was so young. He was a strong and brave man but whenever i saw him it seemed like he was worried or nervous about something like a scared animal. He was usually kind and benevolent wherever he went but not anymore every time I saw him he kept getting worse and worse so i asked him what was wrong and he just smiled and said "every thing's fine" that's the one thing i remember most before he went away.

I remember asking my parents where Danny had went many times and they had just given me answers like he went out of town for a few days. After a while i had enough of it, I demanded from my parents that they tell me where he was. They gave me a sad look and said "Jacob... Danny passed away in the hospital several days ago." "We were waiting till we thought you were ready to tell you." I remember in my mind  I thought about wanting to run outside to see if he would be there washing his car as always next door because i truly couldn't believe that he was gone.I seamed and yelled and cried and was so angry they didn't tell me. I went and asked my parents why they didn't take me to say goodbye. They said that he didn't want me to see him in the condition he was in. My parents told me he wanted me to put his keys on the flowers on his grave.
